A trip to the spa should be relaxing. If it’s your first visit, it can also feel a little intimidating, so here are the do’s and don’ts that help you get the most out of your time with us.
At most spas, if you’re late, you lose time: appointments can rarely be pushed back more than 10 minutes. Come early instead and wait in the lobby with a cup of tea or water.
Your phone should be silent in the spa; using it is a huge no-no. Better yet, leave it in the car. Please keep conversations to a soft tone as a courtesy to guests in treatment.
Undressing in front of someone you’ve just met can feel awkward. Your technician goes to great lengths to protect your modesty, and you’re welcome to keep your underwear on or use our disposable undergarments.
Tip as you would in a restaurant. If you receive services from more than one provider, it’s best to leave a separate tip for each.
Mention any medical condition to your technician, ideally when you book. Some treatments may not be advisable for you. Everything else is covered on your consultation form.
Don’t eat for an hour beforehand, skip alcohol on the day of a body treatment, and drink plenty of water before and after. Some services also mean staying out of the sun, and don’t plan anything strenuous after.
A spa is a great place for a little alone time, so we ask that children under 16 not come along unless they’re being treated, in which case a parent signs a minor consent. If they’re with you, please keep an eye on their safety and the comfort of other guests, or check with your technician first.
If you plan to shave before a treatment (advised for men getting facials, and before laser), do it at least two hours before to avoid irritation.
Lighting, music, room temperature, talking or no talking: all of it can be adjusted to your preference, and questions are always welcome. If any part of your visit falls short, tell your provider first. If that doesn’t resolve it, contact Erin Molyneaux directly.
Booking ahead, online or by phone, saves scheduling frustration and gets you the date and time that actually fits your week.
Text 503.400.2424 or email info@phizspa.com. No question is too small.
If you cancel the day before, it’s half the service; day-of cancellations and no-shows are charged in full. The same standard runs the other way: if Phiz Spa cancels day-of, your rebooked service is free, and if we cancel the day before, it’s half off. Two or more days ahead, either of us, there’s no fee and we simply rebook.
